Preparation

The directress writes a command.

Presentation

  1. The child reads and executes the command.
  2. Directress asks: "What have you done?" The child answers: "I have brought you a pencil"
  3. "What did it say for you to do on this card?"
  4. "Bring me a pencil".
  5. Note that "You say that you have brought me a pencil, not I bring you a pencil".
  6. The present tense lasts only while the action is being done. Once the action is finished, it is already in the past.
  7. More examples are given.
