Materials

  • Small basket with clothes pegs.

Preparation

This as an individual or small group presentation.

Presentation

  1. Introduce the activity to the child at the shelf.
  2. Carry the tray to a table.
  3. Slowly take the clothes pegs out of the basket, lining them up in a row.
  4. Pick up a clothes peg by its ends.
  5. Squeeze the ends together.
  6. Clamp the clothes peg onto the rim of the basket.
  7. Continue with remaining clothes pegs until there is no more left inside the basket.
  8. Begin removing them from the rim of the basket and place them in rows on the table.
  9. Return the clothes pegs to the basket.
  10. Invite the child to repeat the activity.
  11. Return the materials back to the shelf.
