- 9 Golden Beads.
- 9 Ten Bead Bars.
- 9 One Hundred Squares.
- 1 Thousand Cube.
- 1 Operational Mat.
Preparation
Presentation
- Directress takes the 9 units and places them one underneath each other on the operational mat in the 'Unit' column, as Directress and child count 1 to 9.
- When they reach 9, Directress says, "... and one more makes 10".
- Directress places a Ten Bead Bar on the 'Ten' column of the operational mat.
- Directress takes the rest of the Ten Bead Bars and begins to place them side by side, one at a time, as they count together, 'one ten, two tens, three tens,..., nine tens' and the Directress says, "... and one more makes one hundred".
- Directress places one Hundred Square in the 'Hundred' column on the operational mat and began to place the rest of the One Hundred Squares one on top of the other as they count together, 'One Hundred, Two Hundred, Three Hundred,..., Nine Hundred' and the Directress says, "... and one more makes One Thousand".
- Directress places the 1 Thousand Cube on the 'Thousand' column.
