Age

3-6

Materials

  • Fire bell or whistle.
  • Register.

Preparation

This is a collective presentation.

Presentation

It is essential to practice this activity without the use of a fire bell at first, to establish the routine without frightening the children.
The routine is as follows:

  1. When the fire bell or fire whistle sounds, the children are asked in a calm manner to form a line without delay.
  2. The children are counted before the classroom is evacuated.
  3. Lead by one of the Directress, they leave the building by the shortest route; an identified Fire Exit if possible.
  4. The class/group Directress takes the Register, checks the premises-cloak rooms and changing rooms and leaves last.
  5. Once outside the Register is called immediately.
