All the shapes have both straight and curved sides. The shapes are white on one side, black on the other.

- The Directress mixes the shapes white side up on the table and invite the child to feel round the shapes and sort them into three sets, those with straight sides, those with curved sides and those with both straight and curved sides.

The cards are placed with the white side facing up. The child sorts the shapes into sets of straight sides, curved sides and those with both straight and curved sides. Then they may turn the control cards over to check.
Do this with a set of cards at one time. Try to match the shapes with the cards. Then turn over the control card to check.
The children sort the cards into:
Triangles, rectangles, parallelograms, rhombus, trapezoid, trapezium, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, nonagon, decagon.
